The Ladybird Club

About The Ladybird Club

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Teresa and I run the Ladybird Club.

I have worked with children most of my life working in hospitals and social services supporting children with family difficulties. I have a wide range of qualifications which include a diploma in Nursery Care, an NVQ3 in Childcare, Paediatric First Aid and Child Awareness.
I am OfSTED approved and insured with the PACEY.

In 2010 I decided that I would like to start up my own business from home looking after children. I was so excited and amazed at the amount of support I received from my local council. I was given lots of very useful information and excellent training.

I am based in the Talbot Woods area of Bournemouth.

I offer a large selection of toys, games and arts and crafts and display the children’s work on the walls.

Each day is different as I always offer the children varied activities. We encourage formal and informal feedback & ideas from our children and parents.

I take health very seriously and offer a varied diet and lots of fresh fruit. I also like to have regular trips out to give the children exercise and fresh air.

I provide some educational trips, such as a visit to the dentist who gave the children a talk about health and teeth care and allowing the children a chance to sit on the dentist chair. Each child was also given a goody bag.

My setting is to the highest standard and I am proud of what has been achieved so far. Each day brings a new idea and another experience.

Our Christmas party was a success We had a visit from Santa and all the families that attend got together to watch the children’s nativity play, this gives the parents a chance to meet other parents and also see what their children have been doing over the year. We also celebrate all the other major festivals.
Each of the children has their own unique folder and scrap books. This enables parents to see all the activities their children have done and are working on, so there is always a record of the important information on the development of each child.

My families are happy to give references.

I like to feel we offer more than simply childminding, we are a unique little club that
cares for and stimulates the children and helps them develop.
